Quarry, The Stone Cutters, Cut Branch and Broken Branch are paintings that have been developed in a series of 3 - 4 canvases. The work has reminiscence of the blocking and strong qualities of Thomas Hart Benton , and the symbolic elements in the art of Grant Wood. Forrest Bailey is a mature American painter with an exhibition record in mid-western America, he has been living in the CT area for ten years. The work responds to observations made here in CT.
