Diane Rubacca

Diane Rubacha of Middletown earned a degree in fine art from Middlesex Community College, a degree in art education from Central Connecticut State University, and has taken workshops in painting, collage, and printmaking. Working primarily in watercolor and relief printmaking, her work depicts subjects observed locally and during her travels. She enjoys painting regularly with The French Connection, a Middletown-based plein air group, is an Elected Member of the Essex Art Association, and exhibits her work locally. She was honored to have been chosen as the October 2008 Artist-in-Residence at Hot Springs National Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Her painting, “Return of Old Glory,” is in the collection of the Park. Her relief print, “Pileated Woodpecker,” was chosen as one of three Best in Show at the 77th Annual Connecticut Artists’ Exhibit at Slater Museum (2021). Rubacha’s artwork is currently exhibited at Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook, Connecticut.
