My approach to furniture is simple and straightforward. I let the materials and details define the piece. My newest work, Tabla Reclamatio has taken me almost 180 degrees from my past work. It was a Godsend, so to speak, having been commissioned by a priest as his private altar. Some of the materials that make up the various parts of the table have been salvaged from urban industrial waste sites. "Ones man’s trash is another man’s treasure." The histories these materials bring to the piece give it a well of recognition on a level not immediately identifiable, familiar yet fresh. Spiritus Santus
