Call for Artists: Winter Blues

Who We Are:

Tye Johnson Artistry, Inc. is a non-profit dedicated to raising funds for a variety of organizations that service victims of poverty and/or extreme distress. We accomplish this through providing quality events, programs, and merchandise with the sole purpose of raising funds for direct care organizations.

Our passion is to empower people to be who they were created to be.Our mission is to provide social justice experiences and ignite social change and reform through the arts.Our vision is that direct engagement with the arts can change the world.

Exhibition Opportunity:

Mental illness takes many forms. Depression is a mental illness that during these cold months can take hold of the best of us. How do we cope? Art has become a method of healing for some. What does depression mean to you? How do you empower yourself to move through the pain?
Let’s find the light in all the dark. This exhibit it open to interpretation.

Submission Guidelines:
• Must be 2D or 3D
• Must concern issues surrounding depression or other mental illnesses.
• Made within the last 2 years

*Once accepted, artists will be required to pay a $15 admission/hanging fee.

November 19 Call for Artists
December 15 Exhibit Deadline
December 17-19 Notifications sent
December 22-31 Artwork drop off
January 7-10 Installation
January 16-February 20 Exhibit
February 20 Closing Reception
February 25-March 4 Take down and pick up artwork

This exhibit will be displayed at:
3rd Friday Event for January and February at the Zhou B Art Center (TJA Studio), 1029 West 35th Street 4th Floor Chicago IL, January 16th and February 20th 2015 and will be on display for the duration of those 2 months.
