Leclerc Contemporary Gallery is pleased to announce its summer show, ‘Summer Flowers-’ featuring works by Brooke Werhane Maples , a fine artist currently living and working in the New York Metro area. This show features works in abstract expressionism demonstrating a focus on line and the juxtaposition of composition, resulting in paintings that spark emotions, some unsettling.
Brooke graduated from the University of Missouri with a fine arts, art history and environmental design focus and studied Interior Design under the direction of Howard Christian, Bunny Williams, John Rosselli and Jeffrey Billhuber. She has curated shows for Leonard Silaghi and her work was exhibited in the 2015 “Person Place or Thing – Works on Paper from 51 Artists” for 68 Projects, Berlin.
This show is curated by Isabella Garrucho of IGI Fine Art. In celebration of Isabella’s recent appointment as Gallery Director of Leclerc Contemporary a special opening reception is planned for Thursday, July16th from 5:30 – 8:00 PM. After viewing the show guests are invited to Vespa Restaurant, 2A Post Rd West to enjoy a “Show Special” signature cocktail and to experience this recent addition to Westport’s fine dining scene.
Leclerc Contemporary gallery was founded by antique and design professional Geoffrey Walsky. Inspired by his great grandfather Julien Jacques Leclerc, an artist in Paris during the 1920s, Leclerc Contemporary was created to provide a venue for established and emerging contemporary artists to exhibit their work and is located at the Fairfield County Antique & Design Center, 19 Willard Rd., Norwalk, CT 06851, just 40 minutes from New York City.
