A new exhibition called “Staycation: oil paintings by Marc Anderson” will feature Wisconsin landscapes by award winning painter Marc Anderson from April 20 to July 16, 2023 at the Cedarburg Art Museum.

As an artist who travels the country to paint the landscape, Marc Anderson has gained a greater appreciation for the unique and breathtaking scenery that Wisconsin has to offer. The body of work exhibited in “Staycation” will highlight and celebrate those qualities through careful observation and documentation of the Wisconsin landscape in oil on canvas.

To pair with our exhibition, we are offering “Paint in Plein Air with Marc Anderson” on May 13th from 9am to noon at Cedar Creek Park. During the demonstration, Marc will discuss the fundamentals of painting en plein air (on location) as well as more advanced topics like drawing, composition, and color theory. Registration free for members and $5 for non-members. Registration will close May 6th.

Explore beautiful Wisconsin scenery from April 20 to July 16, 2023. An opening reception will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM and will be open to the public. The artist will speak at 5:30pm. This exhibition is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and Wisconsin Arts Board.

The Cedarburg Art Museum welcomes visitors Thursday-Saturday, 10am – 4pm, and Sunday, 12 – 4pm.
