Philadelphia Sculpture Gym Gallery presents Process: CASTING III

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – April 22, 2015 – Coming this May, the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym Gallery will be exhibiting our third installment of Process: CASTING. Mold making and casting are one of our core focuses at the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym and this exhibition will showcase cast sculpture from a variety of different media. Ten artists chosen for their skills will present varying techniques, yet all pieces have the common thread of requiring a mold to produce.

The opening reception will be First Friday, May 1st from 6 – 9pm. The exhibition runs from May 1st through 29th.

The Philadelphia Sculpture Gym Gallery is part of the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym, a community based workshop space that operates like a gym membership. A monthly membership grants members access to a wood shop, metal shop, jewelry shop, forging area, ceramics area and a mold making and casting area. The Philadelphia Sculpture Gym also offers group classes in various processes from welding and woodworking, as well as “personal training” (one-on-one training sessions). Darla Jackson started the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym in 2011 with the help of a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
