The Barnes Foundation has two campuses, the first facility on Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, the center of a renown permanent art collection. Additional public sites include the historic home in the suburb of Merion, location of the Arboretum and archives.

The original galley collection includes, post-impressionist, and early modern paintings, African sculpture, Pennsylvania German furniture, ceramics, and metalwork.
