Jan. 10, 2024 - Dec. 31, 2027
The Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida was founded by Margaret Acheson Stuart and offers a variety of art from around the world. The museum is an elegant setting opened to the public since 1965. Represented works of art range from antiquity to the present through collection and exhibitions.
In 2008 the architectural firm of Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum designed a wing that maintained the existing Palladian-style building and provides for needed space.
…following quote taken from the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg website. “From a collection covering almost 5,000 years of civilization in thousands of objects extending from antiquity to present, to fascinating traveling exhibitions, to exciting events in the heart of downtown’s scenic waterfront, the MFA is here for your discovery. The MFA is proud to have within its walls the only comprehensive art collection of its kind on Florida’s west coast. Highlights include masterpieces from Monet, O’Keeffe, De Koonig, Rauschenberg, Whistler and others, a sculpture garden, a Steuben glass gallery and one of Florida’s most respected photography collections.”
