The artists of Gallery One are pleased to welcome three new artists: Jody Bill of Clinton, Gail Mally-Mack of Chester, and Chip Rutan of Old Saybrook. Their work, along with the sculptures of Guest Artists Gilbert V. Boro, will be featured in an exhibition February 28 through April 22. The reception is scheduled for Friday, March 9, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Jody Bill’s work draws from mythology and has appeared in Raw Vision magazine. She received her M.A. from Wesleyan University and her B.F.A. and B.A. in Anthropology at the University of Boulder, CO. While in her junior year she contracted Encephilitis & lost her memory. Bill says about that time in her life and its effect on her work, “I was very lucky and recovered. My art gained a lot of skill & expression through the healing.” Solo exhibitions of her work include J.J. McCabe’s in Boulder, CO; Institute Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan in Indonesia, and Art in Heaven, New Haven.

Gail Mally-Mack, painter and sculptor, received her M.F.A. from Bennington College. She received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Michigan Council for the Arts for the permanent installation of her sculpture, “Young Flight,” on Silver Beach in St. Josephs, Michigan.

Chip Rutan is an award-winning photographer residing in Old Saybrook, CT. His work has been exhibited in Connecticut, Vermont, New York City, and featured in the Hartford Courant.
