Maksim is a well-known local artist who chose watercolors as his primary medium for the “Houston in Watercolors” exhibition. He is an acclaimed architectural illustrator, and most of the artworks presented at the exhibition are illustrations of downtown Houston and other Houstonian architectural landscapes and city moments.
Maksim about his favorite drawing technique: “While working with leading architecture and design firms such as Gensler and Rottet Studio, hand sketching and quick renderings were always my tools of choice for presenting ideas and conveying design intent”
Koloskov’s illustrations won a number of awards, including The American Society of Architectural Illustrators (ASAI) juried competitions and Architectural Record’s “Cocktail Napkin Sketch” contest. His works have been featured across several platforms and publications such as Architectural Record, Texas Architect, San Diego Magazine, and hyperlapse inspiration videos for Elle Décor.
