What is done by human power is called artificial, and I focus on the artificial form. This is the first step in my work approaching the existence of a human being.

Humans, as a species, have limitations in looking at the world from the point of view of humans, and are social and cultural beings that are intertwined with each other according to various interests.

In a society formed by the gathering of such human beings, humans live with their own boundaries. The boundary may be an act of instinctive vigilance to protect oneself from uncertain dangers, or it is a boundary as a limited space of awareness defined to understand the world in one’s own way. It piles up and there is a boundary between me and you.

The boundary is naturally established as a prejudice or universal recognition in the cultural characteristics of the society to which an individual belongs and the style of the times. In addition, individuals are classified, defined, and bounded by differences by the system established by society. A city is an artificial space created by humans and is filled with various artificial forms.

Nature is a mirror that makes us realize that such humans view the world anthropocentrically. The difference between humans and nature seeks the artificial, and the same seeks the natural. Difference is the act of emphasizing and classifying differences and building boundaries, and equality is the act of breaking down boundaries by understanding differences and integrating them into one. Humans stand on that border.

Humans build boundaries, nature breaks boundaries.
