The Pastel Society of New Hampshire is proud to present its Seventh Annual National Juried Exhibition: “It’s Pastel!” at the Discover Portsmouth Center Gallery in Portsmouth, NH. The show will open on Tuesday, October 20th and run through Monday, November 30th.
Two renowned pastel artists are jurying the competition. Marla Baggetta is the Juror of Selection and has chosen approximately 80 paintings to be included in the exhibition. Baggetta is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and a member of numerous other prestigious artists’ organizations. A prolific painter and teacher, Marla’s artwork and workshops are nationally sought after. Her work has been represented throughout the country for over 30 years.
Stan Sperlak is the Juror of Awards. He is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, the Maryland Pastel Society and a member of the Pastel Society of Colorado. He is also a member of the Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association, having served on the Board of Directors since 2005. He is a member and past President of The Cape May County Art League.
The Pastel Society of New Hampshire is a non-profit organization dedicated to the appreciation of soft pastels as a fine art medium. Founded in January 2006 by a group of pastel artists, the purpose of the society is to promote the arts in New Hampshire, and to foster connections among pastelists of all levels throughout New Hampshire, the New England region, and other states.
