Gaylon’s colossal artwork, all done primarily in colored wax pencil, is a must see. The amount of detail in each work is jaw-dropping when you consider the massive size of the work.

Artist, Gaylon F. Stagner, has had a lifelong love for the history and production of quality art. He is a proud native Texan and has always lived in his home state.

His innate talent manifested early in life inspired by his father, when at twelve years old, an art teacher entered one of his paintings (“Russian Girl”) in an art contest in New York and earned 3rd place among submissions from all over the country, his painting won a prestigious “Gold Key” award. Served as a member of the Austin Pastel Society in 2016 through 2017. Artwork published in Southwest Art Magazine, October 2014. Years earlier, he was commissioned by a Texas based stadium seat company to design the artwork (Texas Seal of Bluebonnets) for one of their stadium chairs for Governor Bill Clements, still in office at the time. This action brought them a “Company of the Year award”.

Mr. Stagner has worked diligently to perfect his innate abilities through self-practice and professional teaching in several mediums, including oils, acrylics, pastels, and pencil, to constantly renew, and re-invent his talent through his many years of experience. His favorite medium has been using different types of pencils. Pencil colors can be limited, but while building and blending, he has created a uniqueness with his own style.
