The 2022 Artists in Residence show on display in the Jacomien Mars Reception Gallery features Gabrielle Reeves (Casper, WY), Stefan Savides (Klamath Falls, OR), Kathy Wipfler (Jackson, WY), Lloyd Kelly (Louisville, KY), and Benjamin Johnson (Sheridan, WY).

This year’s roster of artists represents perhaps the most diverse thus far of the museum’s Artists in Residence exhibits. Each artist works in distinctly different styles and varying art mediums. Gabrielle Reeves has previously exhibited her watercolors and collage works in several of The Brinton Museum’s small works shows and more recently in a one-person show in the Northern Trust Gallery. Stefan Savides creates exquisite bronzes of birds and is represented in the permanent collection with his bronze, The Highwayman, of a roadrunner which is included in the Artists in Residence exhibit. Stefan says that he cannot remember a day when he was not creating birds in one form or another. Kathy Wipfler’s plein air oils painted on various locations in Sheridan County offer artistically beautiful views of the majestic scenery of the area. Artist Lloyd Kelly is represented with a suite of small paintings of various scenes in Big Horn and Sheridan. Benjamin Johnson is exhibiting a series of contemporary oils of an introspective subject. The Artists in Residence show continues through October 30.
