“Time” new works by Katie Bassett, an exploration of materials, time and memories. Katie’s passion for sculptural forms, unconventional material use and abstractions is evident in this new body of work. Her works are forward and raw, evoking images of the figure and textures derivative of nature. Heavily textured, dyed and sewn, Katie’s works reflect imagery and emotions that are deeply personal and ardent.
Katie is a graduate of Western Connecticut’s BFA and MFA program. She currently resides in Bethel CT with her husband and young daughter. She is a crunchy mom, avid recycler, and plant hobbyist.
