THRIVE focuses on the ability to prosper or flourish in a contemporary context. THRIVE refers to the small plant that somehow emerges in a landscape of concrete and in the inspirational drive behind an artist’s practice. It is the beauty of survival and the fear of infestation. It references the concrete and the imaginative, the real and the virtual, the intrinsic and the superficial. Ultimately, in a time of political uncertainty, this exhibition invites the viewer to contemplate our current collective understanding of what it means to THRIVE.
