The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is happy to present Heartland: The Photographs of Terry Evans.

This exhibition will feature a first time career retrospective of Terry Evans (b. 1944), a landscape photographers who has photographed the terrain of America for years. Evans was born in Kansas City will present award winning photos of her views of the Midwest prairie, its people, and its artifacts.

Included in this show are other subjects including natural history museum specimens, the city of Chicago, the steel and oil industries. Her photography is committed to an abiding sense of curiosity and wonder, and a warm, empathetic engagement with her subjects. The show will also offer a fully illustrated, 250 page exhibition catalogue.
