The exhibit features works by Heide Follin, a Norwalk-based fine artist who has won many awards. She has exhibited regionally at the Rowayton Arts Center, Loft Artists Association, Westport Arts Center, New Canaan Carriage Barn, UCONN Stamford Gallery, Art About Town in Westport, The Drawing Room in Greenwich, Pequot Library and the Fairfield Arts Center. Heide graduated from the Worcester Art Museum, with further study at The School of Visual Arts, Silvermine School of Art and the Greenwich Art Society. Additionally, she draws from her experience and sensibility gleaned in her professional advertising design career.

COLOR influenced by emotion, not bound by the expected. NATURE invites vibrant expression in a variety of techniques. With vibrant color as her passion and nature as her subject, Heide Follin infuses her paintings with inventive expression. Her award-winning work evokes the joyful intimacy of natural objects and landscape interpreted in a variety of medium. Techniques include spontaneous brush work, free-form drawing, lyrical Japanese brush strokes, scraping, scratching, dripping, and precise areas for contrast while building up layers.

The opening reception, which includes light refreshments, is on Wednesday, March 4, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The exhibit is held at the ARTWorks Gallery on the Green located at St. Paul’s on the Green, 60 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851. For additional information, contact [email protected].
