YOHO Artists announce the 11th Annual YoHo Artists Open Studio weekend, this May 3 & 4: Saturday and Sunday, noon to 5pm. This FREE event offers a rare opportunity to tour the creative work environments of 50 professional emerging and mid-career artists, artisans, musicians, craftsmen, creative new media specialists, and creative industrial manufacturer. YOHO is a community of several dozens of creative professionals located in the historic Alexander Smith Carpet Mills industrial complex in the heart of Yonkers, at the doorstep of NYC. Since the late 1980’s, the artists of YoHo have been opening their studios to the public. In the past eleven years, this annual event has become one of the largest Open Studio tours in the greater NYC metropolitan area. Visitors from all walks of life: from gallerists, curators, collectors, designers, creative professionals, and the curious public; gather each spring to view new works in a remarkable array of disciplines as well as meet the creators.
All studios are conveniently located in a single set of buildings with easy parking and elevator access. Live music, presentations, food, drink, and other amenities will be available for visitors to enjoy as they explore this creative community.
**SHUTTLES** will be available both days at Metro North Yonkers station beginning at 12:30pm and ending at 6pm. Expected frequency is about 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
YONKERS ARTS WEEKEND
YOHO Artists is pleased to announce the inclusion of our 11th Annual Open Studio Weekend in a City of Yonkers organized Yonkers Arts Weekend. YOHO will be one of several venues including Untermyer Gardens, Hudson River Museum, and several downtown Yonkers destinations including exhibiting at Yonkers Riverfront Library, Philipse Manor Hall, Fashion Institute of Technology exhibiting, Blue Door Gallery, and much more to be announced.
With the generous support of the City of Yonkers, a shuttle will be provided that moves between the Metro North Yonkers Station, YOHO, Untermyer Gardens, Hudson River Museum, back to the Yonkers Train Station where several downtown arts events and dining locations are accessible within a short walk.
