The HBO documentary Southern Rites (2015) visits Montgomery County, Ga., one year after the town merged its racially segregated proms, and during a historic election campaign that may lead to its first African-American sheriff.
Acclaimed photographer and UW-Madison alumna Gillian Laub, first brought the area unwanted notoriety with her photos, currently featured in the Southern Rites exhibition at the Chazen Museum of Art.
