Paintings from traditional landscapes to abstract collages and art created with clay, glass and folded paper will all be part of the fifth annual River Valley Artist art tour.

The three-day event, Oct. 7, 8 and 9 winds through Chester, Essex and Deep River and includes 43 artists in 20 workspaces, homes and galleries.

A kick-off party will be Friday, Oct. 6 from 5 to 7 at the Essex Art Association, 10 North Main St., Essex, where visitors will be able to see art by all the participants. Brochures with maps and details will be available as well.

The tour is Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8 from 10 to 5 and Monday, Oct. 9 from 10 to 2.
