The Wichita Art Museum opened in 1935. It is the location of The Roland P. Murdock Collection, one of the most valued collections of American Art in the country. The Museum is supported through public and private funds, owned by the City of Wichita and managed by a private entity.
The permanent collections include:Heritage of the West: A Romance Gone Forever,Sculpture from the Wichita Art Museum Collection and Steuben Glass from the Wichita Art Museum Collection.
