The Amon Carter Museum of American Art offers a permanent collection of American painting, photographic prints, works by Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell plus much more.
The Amon Carter houses selection of American paintings are focused on the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Included are the works of Frederic Church, Martin Johnson Heade, Winslow Homer, Thomas Eakins, and William Merritt Chase, Stuart Davis, Charles Demuth, Arthur Dove, Marsden Hartley, and Georgia O’Keeffe.
The photographic section offers 40,000 prints, making the museum one of the collectors of American photography. Images include the earliest daguerreotypes produced only in this country and extend to inkjet prints being made today.
Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell—the two greatest artists of the American West are a museum showcase collection. In no other museum can a visitor compare these masterpiece works in so complete a grouping.
