Students will learn to paint a full-color portrait from the live model. We will discuss the essentials of structure and anatomy, how to capture a likeness, and a logical approach to color theory that will allow you to mix flesh tones reliably and quickly. An emphasis will be placed on good drawing and convincing light effect. The instructor will paint alongside students creating a demo portrait as reference. This workshop is open to students of all levels, but experience with drawing and oil painting is recommended.
