In her interactive project Our Stories of Migration, Natalia Nakazawa explores human movement through art objects and storytelling. In this workshop, participants are invited to embroider their own ancestral, present, and future paths onto the surface of a world map tapestry. Additionally, visitors draw their own maps and write responses to the question: “What does it mean to be a global citizen?”. Our Stories of Migration is a free program that will begin with a short conversation between the artist and curator Blair Murphy about the evolution of the project and the artist’s wider interest in identity, multiculturalism, personal histories, and institutional archives. *Space for this workshop is limited, please RSVP.
