California artist Sara Genn’s practice is driven by five basic tenets: asymmetry, asperity, simplicity, austerity and intimacy. Her recent acrylic-on-canvas paintings take inspiration from such sources as 1960’s design and the sublime quiet of the Joshua Tree wilderness near her studio.
