This next exhibit by Sarah Doherty will focus on mental health, with a specification on PTSD, using the artist’s own diagnosis as a launching pad. Often times the visual can succinctly encapsulate where words fail, so the two-part goal of this show is to reduce the isolation those diagnosed/undiagnosed experience by finding similar expressions in someone else on a public stage, and open up a dialogue between those with and without mental illness that helps bridge that gap in understanding.
