The Newburgh Jazz Series returns to the waterfront, featuring Tyrone Birkett Emancipation performing Postmodern spirituals, the negro re-imagined using jazz language, black church music and soul. Opening the show is Chiku Awali African Drumming and Dancing, Spring Valley NY. The concert is held on Thursday August 25 at 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Old Consolidate Iron Site (People’s Park) on the City of Newburgh waterfront.
