Please join the Arlington Commission for Arts & Culture for a festive reception on Monday, December 9 (7 to 9 pm) to welcome Michelle Lougee, the town’s first Artist-in-Residence for Public Art!

Hear about her artwork and how activists in our community are working to reduce plastic pollution. For the next 7 months, Michelle Lougee will lead the Arlington community in creating a large collaborative sculpture for the Minuteman Bikeway made of recycled plastic bags. The work has an environmental message: reduce plastic & protect our world!

Find out how you can help – learn how to crochet plastic bags into colorful art, and hear about free “plarning” workshops starting in January for adults and interested youth (age 10 and up). Donate your plastic bags at our collection box at the Fox Library.

Also at the kickoff, enjoy live music by young singer/songwriter Judah Almond and light refreshments. Hosted by Pathways partner Robbins Library in the Community Room.
