During the early months of 1876, Louis Comfort Tiffany and his family spent time in French Algeria in North Africa. The written documents related to this trip are scant, but there are paintings and relevant photographs in the Tiffany Studios Study Photograph Collection at the Morse Museum. The extant evidence reveals Tiffany’s time in and around the city of Algiers, as well as his excursions to Bouzaréah, Boufarik, and Tlemcen.
