Dirty Fingernails IV Opening Reception
Foundry Art Centre
Jan. 31, 2020, 05:30 pm
The Foundry Art Centre is hosting “Dirty Fingernails IV”, an exhibition celebrating ‘pure’ printmaking. Showcasing the skill and patience of artists who, in an age of seductive high speed solutions, still prefer to work up a sweat and get their hands dirty. Printmakers are welcome to submit up to three works for consideration. Images may be representational, abstract, or nonobjective. Only original, hand-pulled prints will be considered for inclusion.
“Dirty Fingernails IV” will have an Opening Reception on Friday, January 31st, 2020, from 5:30-8pm in the Grand Hall. The exhibition will be on display from January 31st, 2020 to March 13th 2020. Three prizes will be awarded at the Opening Reception: two Juror’s Choice Awards, and a Going Solo Award that offers the recipient a solo exhibition in one of our galleries. The Going Solo Award winner from the “Out on a Limb” exhibition, Sharon Hutson, will be showcasing her landscape and portrait watercolor paintings in Gallery III during the opening. The exhibitions are free and open to the public.

About the Foundry Art Centre
The Foundry Art Centre is a dynamic community art center dedicated to the creation and presentation of contemporary visual arts. Located in the historic district of St.Charles, in what once was a train car factory on the riverbank to the Missouri River, the region’s art community and local officials saw potential in the 1940’s building with its 36,800 square feet and decided to create a not-for-profit art hub. The Foundry features state-of-the-art exhibition spaces hosting juried exhibitions of national and international artists. The mezzanine level features 20 local artists studios where guests are encouraged to watch the creative process, buy art, and partake in classes hosted by the artists. A children’s gallery on the main floor helps facilitate games and artistic activities kids can explore, and a smaller gallery reserved for emerging artists allows their work to be exposed to people who rent the room for meetings, receptions, weddings, or corporate events. Our mission is to connect everyday people with the arts through our studio artists, educational classes, special events, and exhibitions.
Hours are Tuesday-Thursday, 10am-8pm, Friday and Saturday 10am-5pm, and Sunday 12pm-4pm. Admission is free and donations are appreciated. For more information please call 636-255-0270 or visit www.foundryartcentre.org.
