The Oklahoma City Museum of Art presents Photorealism Revisited. Photorealism that boldly depends on photography as an essential aspect of realism, began in the 1960’s and at the time was considered predictable reenactments by critics. The work flourished in the 1970’s and continues into the post millennium.
The exhibition features sixty works from the most well known Photorealist artists and pioneers in the field Robert Bechtle, Charles Bell, Chuck Close, Audrey Flack, Don Eddy, Richard Estes, Ralph Goings, Richard McLean, and Ben Schonzeit. Many of the works in Photorealism Revisited explore urban and suburban landscapes and subjects ranging from trucks, motorcycles, cars, and roadside eateries.
