Area Show: 43
MacNider Art Museum announces this summer’s Area Art Competition.

Open to all artists of any type of media residing within 100 miles of Mason City, encompassing North Central Iowa and Southern Minnesota. Artists can two artworks without limit to size or material.

All artists are entering for the opportunity to have their work exhibited and cash awards. The artist with the entry chosen Best in Show will be granted with a solo exhibition at the MacNider Art Museum in 2013. Three artists will receive the $250 Excellence Awards, two will received the Merit Awards at $100 each, and a $50 Most Daring Award will also be given. In addition, Honorable Mentions will be awarded.

The juror for Area Show: 43 is Darrell Taylor. Taylor is Director of the University of Northern Iowa Gallery of Art and Overseer at the University of Northern Iowa Permanent Art Collection. attend.
