The The Taft Museum of Art presents African American Art since 1950: Perspectives from the David C. Driskell Center. In 1976, curator and David Driskell explored the African American art with this exhibition, showcasing two centuries of Black American art.
In this exhibition, the David C. Driskell Center for the Study of African American Art cosiders how this same art subject has evolved since the significant show of 1976. Artists include Faith Ringgold, Romare Bearden, and Sam Gilliam with Kara Walker, Willie Cole, and Chakaia Booker. Sixty works in a variety of sculpture, prints, collage, photography, and mixed media will be highlighted in the exhibitions.
