Centennial Celebration
Lyme Art Association
Aug. 7, 2021, 12:00 am
The 100th anniversary of the construction of the Lyme Art Association gallery will be officially celebrated on August 7 with three related events. Tea Day is a family-friendly event that runs from 1:00 – 4:00. Beverages and baked goods will be sold, and crafts, games, and other fun activities will be offered. Costumed historical interpreters will be on hand to share stories of the artists who founded the Lyme Art Association and planned and built the gallery. Wet Paint on Lyme Street will take place all day as artists paint en plein air all along Lyme Street. They will sell their paintings on the Association lawn at 4:30. Finally 5:00 pm will kick off the Centennial Frolic, a fundraiser for the Second Century Skylight Project. 1920s costumes are encouraged for all Centennial Day events. To learn about and donate to this campaign and be invited to the Frolic, please visit lymeartassociation.org or come that night with your donation!
