October is Artist Book Month at Art in Flux. Each Wednesday evening, 6:00-8:00PM in October one visual artist will share their book(s) with visitors along with a discussion / interview at 6:30. The discussions will be held at the intimate storefront gallery located at 163 Malcolm X Blvd between 118 and 119th Streets, NYC.

October 19: Artist Leslie Jiménez in collaboration with Coronado Print Studio, Moderator, Pepe Coronado, Master printmaker, Artist and Director Coronado Print Studio

Leslie Jiménez
Leslie Jiménez is a Dominican multidisciplinary artist and illustrator, based in NY. Where she works and lives with her husband, daughter and two blood parrot fish. Ms. Jiménez graduated from the prestigious Altos de Chavón School of Design, in the Dominican Republic. She was awarded a full scholarship at Parsons The New School for Design in New York City, where she graduated with honors.
Leslie’s work has been exhibited in galleries in NYC, Washington DC, Barbados, Santo Domingo, SCOPE Contemporary Art Fair NY, and New York Presbyterian – The Allen Hospital. Other venues include PBS, and online magazine Mashable. Jiménez has been invited to talk about her work at El Museo del Barrio, CNN en Español, Rutgers University, City College, and Parsons The New School. Coronado Print Studio is a fine art printmaking workshop whose mission is to provide a space for artists to realize their concepts in collaboration with a master printer. The studio selects or invites artists from various disciplines in the fine arts to create new works in print media using traditional, contemporary, and innovative printmaking techniques. Located in El Barrio (East Harlem) New York City, the studio has a national and international outreach through its visiting artists program.
