Katy Bishop’s Solo Exhibition – COLORING OUTSIDE THE LINES

Visit the Reception for Katy Bishop’s Solo Exhibition, Coloring Outside of the Lines, next Saturday, April 19, from 5-8 pm, at Gallery 612 in Santa Monica, CA.

Katy Bishop creates alcohol ink paintings on canvas, paper and plexiglass that are inspired by what she feels, not what she sees.  The ethereal fluidity, vibrant color harmonies, and organic movement create a visual language that is both abstract and emotionally evocative.

Raised in Chicago, Katy began her artistic journey as a young teen in scholarship classes at Chicago’s Art Institute. She is now a contemporary abstract painter based in Los Angeles.

Her 2024 award-winning artwork has been featured at solo exhibitions with TAG Gallery, Los Angeles, and Santa Monica as well as in other commercial galleries in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Costa Mesa, Chicago, Rome, Milan, Venice, Turkey, Spain, Tokyo and online venues. She is a member of The Los Angeles Art Association, California Art League, International Association of Art, USA and Women’s Caucus for Art.
