Zip US Up!™ is a diversity-based art project fostering unity through inclusion and collaboration. 40 artists will be selected by an amazing jury to create their own canvas panel provided by the project team. Artists are required to collaborate with the adjacent artist to the right and left to make a cohesive piece that uniquely represents their own artistic style while using predetermined connecting points provided on the canvas. Upon completion, the canvases will be zipped together to create a 175-foot mural to be prominently exhibited in windows of the Baldwin Public Library in Birmingham, Michigan, a city located in Metro Detroit, between October 2021-May 2022. Each of the participating artists will receive prizes, and awards are offered. The art will also be for sale. Applications are accepted through CaFE’ using the link provided.
