The Pacific Art League mission is to advance the expression, appreciation and enjoyment of the arts.
Dedicated to sustaining the great tradition of promoting art, training emerging artists and enriching lives in the San Francisco Peninsula since 1921, the Pacific Art League currently enrolls over 2,100 students of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels in classes taught by a faculty of 60 experienced artists at its downtown Palo Alto location. The gallery showcases monthly juried exhibits as well as other selected work by local artists.
The League also offers summer art camps for youth and regular special events for art lovers as part of the growing vibrant art scene in the area.
We are pleased to announce a new show for PAL, the inaugural first annual Works on Paper Exhibition. This exciting new exhibition encompasses drawing, fine prints, photography, and collage, allowing artists proficient in many media to enter their work for this juried exhibition. We are also excited to announce that this show will be hosted in our gallery for all of February and March.
ELIGIBILITY
Open to all artistic works on paper. Limits on video and installation. Please contact the gallery manager with questions.

AWARDS

JUDGE
Ric Ambrose is a prominent figure in the Bay Area art world with many connections to museums and galleries. Ric leads the Richmond Art Center as the Executive Director and is an acclaimed artist himself, creating expansive and intricately detailed graphite works on paper. Ric recently won the prestigious 2017 “Salon” show at the Triton Museum with the prize a one man show in main gallery in 2018.

Friday & Saturday January 26th and 27th (10am – 4pm). All work must be hand delivered to PAL. No Shipped work accepted.
PICK UP WORK
Friday & Saturday, March 23rd and 24th (10am – 4pm ONLY)

ENTRY FEE
PAL Members Individual/Student/Senior: $40 first entry; $20 second entry, $10 each additional entry
PAL Members Family/Artists: $40 first entry; $10 second entry, $10 each additional entry
Non-Members: $50 first entry, $20 for each additional entry
SELECTION NOTIFICATION DATE
Thursday, January 18th, 2017 by email. Award winners are announced at the Friday, February 2nd opening reception.
EXHIBITION GUIDELINES
· All work much be original and not previously exhibited at Pacific Art League.
· All 2D work must be ready to hang on a wire.
· All 2D work must be framed or on gallery -wrapped canvas with finished edges.
· Size of work is limited to 40” wide by 50” tall, including frame. (contact below for inquiry)
· All work must be labeled on the front with title and artist’s name.
