SAA 41st Faber Birren Color Award Exhibit, September 25-October 31, 2021.

In 1980, Faber Birren, world renowned color consultant, author of 27 books on color, endowed the Faber Birren Color Award Exhibit with awards for original and creative expression of color. The Faber Birren Color Award Exhibit has grown from a regional exhibit to one of national scope, encouraging artists in all media. This competition is the only artistic event devoted exclusively to the use of color.

This year the Stamford Art Association celebrates its 41th year of the Faber Birren National Color Award Exhibit and due to COVID-19 it will be an ONLINE exhibit only.

Prizes: First prize is $500 with 2nd, 3rd, HM’s as per the juror. Over $1200 in prize money. Winners will be asked to participate in a video presentation.

ELIGIBILITY
-Original art in any two-dimensional or three-dimensional media, created in the last 3 years and not exhibited previously in the Faber Birren Show. Electronic media, performance art, and installations will NOT be accepted.
-All entries must be submitted electronically.

IMAGE REQUIREMENTS
-File format: JPEG only
-File dimensions: No smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side
-File resolution: 72 ppi/dpi (standard web resolution)
-File size: 5 MB maximum
JPEG images MUST BE labeled as follows:
YourLastName_Title_Media _Price_Dimensions Example: Smith_Early Spring_Oil_500_12x16.jpg
Height must be given before width regardless of whether the work is a vertical or a horizontal. Note that Dimensions include framed size.

Size and weight:
No size or weight limitations as this is a virtual exhibit.

ENTRY FEE
-A non-refundable fee of $35.00 first piece entry and $20.00 for each additional entry. Unlimited entries up to 9 per artist are permitted.
Multiple entries MUST be submitted at the same time to take advantage of the lowered additional entry fee. Entry fees must be paid to Stamford Art Association through the entry form’s Paypal link, which accepts credit cards. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs.
-Your entry will not be valid until payment is received.

COMMISSION
The gallery will take 25% commission on any work sold. Work not for sale must be marked ‘NFS’ No ‘POR’ (price on request) sales.

NOTES
-Accepted work may be refused if it does not conform to the entered image. Absolutely NO SUBSTITUTIONS of accepted works will be allowed.

-All accepted work must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition

-Do not enter “Framed” in the Price field only the price or NFS

-Do not enter “no publicity” as image will not be displayed

-Enter your name with first letter capitalized and rest lower case-John Doe
