Saratoga Clay Arts Center seeks submissions for its 3rd annual national juried exhibition, SAY SOMETHING: Tactile Voices in Clay, to be held April 30 – June 11, 2022 in its Schacht Gallery.

SAY SOMETHING: Tactile Voices in Clay call details: Handcrafted objects play an intimate role in our everyday lives as they engage the body directly in the simple act of use. Why not also engage the mind of the user with your own take on the world? As we go about the process of nourishing, pleasing or honoring our bodies, the containers we use have the ability to contribute, augment and tantalize how we experience our existence. The intimate space between our pots and the person using them is ours to engage. Saratoga Clay Art Center’s national juried exhibition, Say Something, curated by Philadelphia potter and artist Kevin Snipes, seeks tactile voices in clay. That is, utilitarian works that not only function well in our daily lives, but also use decoration, narrative imagery, words, and/or form to give the works a glimpse into the passionate mind of the maker. Whether quietly stated, in your face, or smoke and mirrors, the works in this exhibition will give an inclusive look at diverse voices in the activation of utilitarian clay. Freedom of speech is respected, but hate speech is not acceptable.
