Plein Air, Art in the Mountains 2018

Gilmer Arts, in conjunction with the Gilmer Chamber of Commerce announce Plein Air, Art in the Mountains 2018. The 3-day outdoor painting event host regional artists painting at a variety of sites throughout the county. Beginning on Friday, June 8, 2018 and culminating on Sunday June 10, 2018. Beginning on Friday, artist will be in the field painting, and at end of day, attend a welcome reception at the Gilmer Arts Link Gallery. On Saturday the 9th, a Quick Draw Challenge (timed paint competition) will be held at Chateau Meichtry Vineyard and Winery. A $500 cash award will be presented to the challenge winner Also on Saturday, a youth version of the Quick Draw Challenge will be held at River Park with prizes being awarded to winners in each of 3 age categories. A closing reception and auction will be held on Sunday afternoon at which the art created during the 3 days of the event will be up for bidding.
