IMPOSSIBLE INSTRUCTIONS : a collaboration between visual artists & writers
This exhibition will explore the relationship between sculpture and text by inviting writers and sculptors to collaborate. Here are the basics:

First, choose if you’re a writer or an artist. Next, let us know if you have a partner in mind. Finally, you and your partner will make art together. If you are the writer, within your genre (poetry, flash fiction etc.), write instructions for the artist. If you are the artist, follow these instructions. Make art.

Visual artists and writers can enter ideas separately to be paired together or as a team.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTRY:

WRITER: Please submit 2-3 poems or up to 1000 words of prose plus a paragraph of why you would like to be a part of this project and what you would be looking for in a visual artist collaborator. The work you submit to us now does not have to be the final set of creative “instructions” you give to your artist.

AND

VISUAL ARTIST: Please submit 2-3 sketches for an idea, proposed materials, installation requirements, and a brief explanation of what you would be looking for in a writer collaborator.
