Fresh Ink: Contemporary Explorations in Printmaking

The Umbrella Arts Center is pleased to accept submissions for the juried exhibition Fresh Ink: Contemporary Explorations in Printmaking. Printmakers from all across New England are invited to submit works created using printmaking processes that push the boundaries of the medium and speak to contemporary audiences. All work must include handmade techniques. No digital prints. Variations and combinations of woodcuts, linocuts, lithographs, aquatint, screenprinting, monoprints, etching, collagraphs, engraving, etc. will be considered.
Prizes will be awarded.
Best in show: $1,000
Juror’s choice: 5 awards at $100 each.
Juror: Carolyn Muskat is a Master Printmaker, who owns and operates Muskat Studios, a professional printmaking studio in Somerville, MA where she creates her own work and collaborates with artists to produce original fine art prints.
Deadline for applications: Friday, September 15, 2023
Notification and selection announcement: Monday, October 16, 2023
Shipped work: Must be received by Friday, November 10 and include a prepaid return shipping label
Artwork drop off: Friday, November 10, Saturday, November 11, 2023, 12-4pm
Show Opening: Thursday, November 16, 2023
Artists Reception: Sunday December 10, 2-4pm
Artwork Deinstallation/Pickup: Thursday, January 4th, 4-6pm, Friday, January 5th, 10-1pm or by arrangement.
