Juror: Nicole Hayes, Program Manager, Interlude Artist Residency, Hudson, New York
Dates to apply: August 7 – September 5, 2023, Midnight
Notification to applicants: September 28, 2023
Exhibition dates: WAAM will work with the selected artists to schedule 6 various time slots throughout 2024. Shows are 4-6 weeks.

Woodstock Artists Association & Museum boasts five galleries, one of which is devoted primarily to one-person exhibitions. Selected artists have the opportunity to take over the Solo Gallery where they can present a focused body of work that speaks to the issues and aesthetics that drive their practice. Submissions take place once each year for the following year’s calendar.

One esteemed juror selects the artists for the entire year’s solo programming; usually six artists. Those who have applied in the past and not gotten in, should consider reapplying since each juror’s aesthetic, ideology and point of view varies widely. Artists who’ve been awarded a solo show in the last five years at WAAM are ineligible for re-application.

Applications are open to all artists within a 50 mile radius of Woodstock, NY. Non-members pay a $40 application fee, (there is no fee for WAAM members). Artists selected for a solo show are asked to procure a full WAAM membership within 30 days of notification of their acceptance. The $40 non-member fee will be applied toward their annual membership fee. All submissions are welcome. If you are unable to remit the full fee due to financial hardship, please contact us for assistance: [email protected].

Guidelines: Artwork should be professionally presented and prepared for installation. Any special installation or technology requirements will be supplied by artist and we ask that you note that in the submission. The WAAM reserves the right to reject works that are found unsuitable for display. WAAM’s gallery commission is 40% and should be considered in pricing the work.

Application Materials:
• Between 5 – 10 images (.jpg file format) Each image file should include Artist’s Last Name_Title. List the title, medium, dimensions and retail price for each image in the space provided.
• Images should be representative of the work you’d like to show, but if selected, you may also make new work.
• Brief artist’s bio
• Artist’s statement
