Collective Visions Gallery announces the Ninth Annual CVG Show, a juried art competition for Photo/digital, Two-dimensional and Three-dimensional art.  All Washington State artists are invited to submit work; over $10,000 in cash and purchase prizes will be awarded for winners in several categories as listed below.

ABOUT THE JUROR
Leilani Lewis is Director of Communications and Marketing at the Northwest African American Museum (NAAM) in Seattle, Washington.  An arts administrator who is passionate about visual arts, community and social justice, she specializes in bridging communities and sparking conversations on the arts and social impact. Ms. Lewis has curated art shows at the Ethnic Heritage Gallery, Columbia City Gallery, the Lucid Gallery, and several other locations. She’s served as a judge for the Congressional Arts Competition, Onyx Fine Arts Collective, Artist Trust Edge Award, and the SAM’s Naramore Student Art Competition.  She serves on the advisory board for the prestigious Neddy Artist Award, the largest award for visual artists in the state, as well as on the University of Washington Museum Studies Program and the University of Washington Diversity Minority Committee advisory boards. Recently she was selected to serve on Seattle’s Leadership Tomorrow program. Her work at NAAM includes leading all high impact programs and thoughtful audience building. She reports that she first developed an eye for complexity and an appreciation for visual art and craft as a youngster accompanying her mother to work at the Detroit Institute of Art. She holds degrees in Art History (BA) and Nonprofit Leadership (MA) from Seattle University.

E L I G I B I L I T Y
All artists must be 18 years of age or older and be a resident of  Washington State. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the entrant and executed within the last three years (since 1/1/12) and without the supervision of an instructor. Copies of existing artworks or based on copyrighted artworks are not eligible.
REFUNDS WILL NOT BE GRANTED TO APPLICANTS WHO ARE NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THIS AGREEMENT.

ENTRY FEE: $45:00; LIMIT 3 ART WORKS
Preferred entry method: online through CaFE (www.callforentry.org).
Mail in method: For an additional fee of $15 those not wishing to use the online system may enter by mailing jpeg images on a CD to The CVG Show, 331 Pacific Avenue, Bremerton, WA 98337.

CONDITIONS
A maximum of THREE entries per artist is permitted.  Artists may enter more than one category. Two-dimensional work may not exceed 8 feet in its longest dimension nor weigh more than 75 lbs. Two views of Three-dimensional work are permitted.  3D work must fit within a 4 x 4 x 9 foot space and weigh less than 400 lbs.  All two-dimensional works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas.  Shipped work must use Plexiglas. All work must be ready for presentation with the appropriate framing, hanging wires and the like.  Artists may not substitute another work for an accepted work, alter a work, change the sales price, nor withdraw a work after it has been accepted.   All work must be for sale.   Early pickup of artwork is not permitted.  Collective Visions Gallery reserves the right to refuse any entry which does not match the images submitted or meet the criteria enumerated here. Early pickup is not permitted.

ACCEPTED WORKS
Artworks can be hand delivered or shipped.  Shipping instructions will be included in the notification e-mail letter. The artist entrant will be responsible for all shipping charges both directions.  Every precaution will be taken to handle artwork with the utmost care.  However, neither Collective Visions Gallery nor the co-sponsors of the exhibition will be responsible for damage or loss from any cause.

NOTIFICATION
Notification of accepted or non-accepted work will be via email as early as possble in December, but no later than December 31, 2015.

SALES
Sales will be promoted.  All work must be for sale. Collective Visions Gallery will retain a 33% commission on all sales.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Collective Visions Gallery reserves the right to photograph entries for purposes of publicity, documentation, education, and promotion.

LIABILITY
Art works will be insured for liability while at Collective Visions Gallery. However, the construction and design of the work must not present a hazard to the public or gallery staff.

LEGAL AGREEMENT
All artists must be 18 years of age or older and reside in Washington State.  Submission of entry constitutes an agreement on the part of the artist to comply with all of the conditions and terms contained in this prospectus.  No work accepted into this agreement may be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition. All decisions of the Exhibition Chair are final.

ABOUT CVG
Collective Visions Gallery (aka CVG) is an artist-owned and operated gallery representing over 25 Puget Sound artists working in a variety of 2D and 3D modes and media in contemporary, abstract, and traditional styles. The Gallery is located in the heart of downtown Bremerton. Gallery programs include feature, solo, and two person exhibits by member artists; ongoing display of works by all the member artists; workshops, lectures and art forums, exhibitions by guest artists, and an annual statewide juried exhibit.
