Journey: The Art of Healing

Union Street Gallery is looking to put together an exhibit of art created as means of emotional, spiritual, or physical healing.

Art has the potential to transform lives and often in profound ways. When words are not enough, we turn to images and symbols to tell our stories. And in telling our stories through art, we can find a path to healing, recovery, and transformation.

Renee Klyczek Nordstrom is a professional artist and art therapist, and previous director of Union Street Gallery. Patric McCoy is the president of Diasporal Rhythms in Chicago, a collectors’ collaborative focused on art created by contemporary artists of the African diaspora.
