The Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science presents the 56th MID-STATES ART EXHIBITION a regional competition for local artists. Entries will be accepted for the six-state area including Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Missouri.

Over $7,000 in purchase and merit awards allow the Museum to acquire works of contemporary art. The new collection and merit awards encourage and recognise regional artists.

Juror for the competition is artist and author Peter Plagens. Peter is a professional painter who’s work has appeared in the Nancy Hoffman Gallery in New York since 1974, along with several other authored paper and fellowships.
