This landmark exhibition is the first to look at the formative years of Richard Diebenkorn (1922–1993), one of California’s most important modern artists. Focused on work rarely seen by the public, it explores how his style evolved from early figurative work, to mature Abstract Expressionism, and back again to the figure. This exhibition was organized by the Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, in conjunction with the Richard Diebenkorn Foundation.
